Horizontally set with a graduated row of five cushion shape old cutnatural unenhanced rubies in open backclaw settings with an approximate combined weight of 3.40 carats, further set with eight round rose cutdiamonds in closed backrubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.08 carats, to an elegant half hoop design, with an intricately carved gallery with scrolling motifs and open backholing, flanked by trumpeting shoulders with ornate detail and leading through to a solid tapering D-shapeshank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1890.
