Ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.25 carats, further set with eight cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats, interspersed by four cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.55 carats, to an ornate cluster design featuring openwork detail, polished edges and open backholing, leading to split shoulders with granule detail and flowing through to a solid chamfered edge shank. Marked 22 carat yellow gold, engraved to interior 'From R.B.D Feb 24 188..', full hallmarks for London, English, 1880.
