A circular pendant set with thirty-four round in and settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.45 , set within an elaborate red, blue and green enamelled design within an intricate carving of a woman's bust with ornately carved detail wearing a diamond choker, fitted to top with a secure diamond-set bale, pendant approximately 2.8cm in length. 18 carat yellow , 'Romeo à Ines, 25-12-18', 1915.

Director's Notes

This piece is similar in style and form to the work of Art Nouveau medal-jewellers such as Jean-Baptiste-Émile Dropsy, Frédéric Charles Victor de Vernon, and Jules Chéret. These artists frequently produced habillé (French for "dressed") jewels, in which the female subject is adorned with miniature jewellery, often highlighted with tiny rose-cut diamond chips to enhance the illusion of precious ornament.
