Set throughout the brooch with sixteen round mixed in and settings with a total approximate weight of 0.20 , to a circular enameled brooch, featuring an extremely fine example of enamel portrait work, an background with various details in an Egyptian theme including a tiara, earrings, a necklace and a raised scarab beetle motif, with open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinge pin and to top a retractable oval bale, approximately 2.8cm in diameter. yellow gold, numbered 38599, signed 'Plojoux Geneve' for Plojoux, Swiss, 1915.

Director's Notes

Plojoux Genève was a distinguished Geneva watchmaking and fine jewellery house founded by master horologist Marc-Abraham Plojoux (1832–1922). Based at 30 Rue du Rhône, the firm became known for its refined craftsmanship and technical innovation, producing finely made timepieces and jewellery during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The house’s reputation for quality was further recognised with an honourable mention at the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1878.
