Set to center with one unenhanced oval mixed cut yellow Ceylon sapphire in an setting with an approximate weight of 24.40 , encircled by twenty in open back with a combined approximate weight of 2.60 carats to an impressive design featuring polished edges, stylised claws and an intricately pierced leading to fancy shape open backholing and flowing through to solid split carved with a motif and flowing through to a solid carved . yellow and , 1900, accomoanied by Gemmological Certification Services Report #5786-2837.

Alongside blue sapphires are a wondrous variety known as ‘fancy sapphires’. This term is simply used to describe any sapphire that is not blue, with different trace elements causing this variation in colour. With numerous hues encountered, including yellow, purple, pink and orange, it may be easier to list those not regularly seen, namely colourless sapphires and those with tones of emerald-green.

Yellow sapphires are the most abundantly found of fancy sapphires in Ceylon, and their colour ranges from pale yellow and bright lemon to a rich golden hue.
