Victorian five stone ring. Horizontally to centre with a shape in settings with an approximate weight 1.25 , flanked by four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 2.45 carats, surrounded by twenty-four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain and settings with a combined weight of 2.85 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 6.55 carats, to an impressive five stone cluster design featuring smooth edges, a pierced with decorative motifs and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting flowing through to a solid . yellow and , 1880, accompanied by box.

This ring is an incredible example of Victorian craftsmanship. Featuring beautiful hand-cut diamonds from the historic mines of India or Brazil, a ring like this would originally have been worn in the evening, for occasions such as dinners and dances that would have taken place. With most Victorian households still lit by either candlelight or gaslight, these diamonds are known as candlelight diamonds, and their scintillation in such settings is unsurpassed.
