Edwardian Sapphire and diamond coronet cluster. Set with one oval cold cut natural no heat Basaltic sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.25 carats, surrounded by ten cushion shape old mine diamonds, graduated in size, in open back claw and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.20 carats, flanked by two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.30 carats to an elegant elongated coronet cluster with an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, leading to smooth shoulders which flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5786-2839.
