Set to centre with a shape unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 , flanked by two two cushion shape in open back with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats, to an elegant three stone ring featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced and circular open backholidng, leading to inwardly tapering with detail and flowing through to a solid . and 18 carat yellow , 1905, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5785-1971.

Our in house gemmologist has graded the diamonds, settings permitting, to be approximately VS clarity.

Ceylon sapphires are celebrated for their bright mid blue colour, often referred to as a distinctive 'cornflower' blue hue. This attractive colour is typically a lighter shade of blue than sapphires from other mines across the world. Despite being a small country, Sri Lanka is rich in a natural wealth of stones and has produced quantities of many types of gemstones such as garnet, moonstone, peridot, spinel and topaz to name a few. Sri Lanka is however primarily known for its profusion of corundum gems, for example the prized phenomenal gems such as star sapphires, the rainbow hues of fancy colour sapphires, and notably the extraordinary and highly sought after padparadscha sapphires.
