This ring is in excellent condition.
During the Victorian period, untreated sapphires from Ceylon were admired for their natural brilliance and distinctive cornflower-blue colour. Stones of exceptional size and quality were rare, making this example of 4.40 carats with even, consistent colour particularly remarkable.
