Vintage Burmese sapphire and diamond ring. Centrally set with an octagonal emerald-cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with a weight of 5.94 carats, flanked by one octagonal emerald-cut diamond, D colour, VS2 clarity, with a weight of 0.62 carats, in an open back claw setting, and further set with a second octagonal emerald-cut diamond, D colour, VS1 clarity, with a weight of 0.58 carats, in an open back claw setting. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.20 carats, to a geometric three stone design featuring corner claws, a rectangular pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, leading to raised openwork shoulders flowing smoothly through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat gold and platinum, English, circa 1950, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5776-6962, SSEF report #146642 and Gemological Institute of America (GIA) reports #7232044791 and #1225763766.
