Art Deco ruby and diamond target ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.95 carats, encircled by a single row of sixteen tapered calibre cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back rubover channel settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.60 carats, further set with a border of thirty round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.60 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.55 carats, to a linear geometric cluster design featuring millegrain edging, an ornate scalloped openwork gallery and fancy shape open backholing, flanked by trumpeting openwork shoulders with chenier detail which flow down to a solid ridged flat shank. Marked platinum and 18 carat gold, French control marks, circa 1920.
