17th century diamond ring. Set to centre with a rectangular table-cut diamond in a closed back cut-down setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, flanked by two rectangular table-cut brown diamonds in closed back cut-down settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.30 carats, to an impressive flank solitaire design featuring stylised claws, a smooth gallery and closed backholing, leading to carved shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1680.
