 Description

Sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to center with an oval old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, surrounded by twelve round old cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring millegrain scalloped edges, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, the slightly raised shoulders leading through to a solid D-shaped shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and tested platinum, maker's mark 'L&L' for Laurie and Lazarus, engraved ' W.M.R to H.A.L.', numbered '89', circa 1915, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5784-1767.
