Renaissance 'Bamme Family' ring with rock crystal . Centrally set with an oval rock crystal , intricately carved to depict a griffin's head, a ducal and a key positioned in the beak in a closed foiled back setting, surrounded by a smooth polished border, flanked to either side with broad trumpeting which lead to a solid . yellow gold, approximately 7.9g in weight, 16th-17th century, accompanied by a museum quality seal impression.

The Bamme or Baum family originated in Gillingham, Kent in the 15th century. The family crest is unique with it's use of the griffin, ducale crown and key making this item a particularly rare example.
