Georgian and mandolin /pendant locket. A yellow, rose and green brooch/pendant in the form of a mandolin, a symbol of harmony in love, the front and reverse decorated with floral and foliate motifs in rose and green gold respectively on a yellow gold dappled ground, the front of the body of the mandolin rimmed with nine shape unenhanced in settings with an approximate total weight of 1.00 , interspersed with nine cushion shape old mine natural with no colour enhancement in closed back with an approximate total weight of 1.00 carats, with wire strings, the reverse with a hinged pressure fit bead latch which opens to reveal an oval glass compartment, the reverse set with a secure hinged pin and scroll latch, all suspended from a double belcher chain on a circular ribbed bale. gold, 1830.
