Gemstones - a rainbow of colour

This time of year is when we start to see nature blossom and bloom, when we put winter firmly behind us and look forward to the summer ahead. Spring is the perfect time to present an important piece of jewellery. It signifies new beginnings and couldn’t be more appropriate for popping the question, or indeed treating her to a new addition to her jewel box. With nature flourishing we welcome in a wonderful world of colour.

We have a rainbow of coloured stones in our collection. At Berganza, all of our coloured stones are natural and unenhanced. This means they haven’t been altered by man to be a different colour to what Mother Nature intended. If a gemstone is natural and unenhanced, it is more valuable than a comparable gemstone which has undergone treatment. Today, treating gemstones is almost seen as standard practice, but all of our jewellery is set with gemstones which are the colour they came out of the ground.

Celebrate the colours of nature this spring with a piece of antique or vintage jewellery set with a striking coloured gemstone. For more information on a specific stone, you may like to read our gemmological features or watch our videos. These can be found in the News archive section on our website, or by clicking here.
