 Description

Black opal and diamond necklace. Centrally set with a drop shape cabochon natural black opal in a open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 7.80 carats, suspended from seven round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a total combined weight of 0.36 carats. Further suspended from one round old cut diamond in an open back rubover setting with a weight of 0.20 carats. The total diamond weight is 0.56 carats to an elegant necklace flowing with movement featuring polished borders, an intricate openwork gallery and fancy shape open backholing, accompanied by a fine trace link chain with a secure sprung c-clasp closure, pendant approximately 4.2cm in length, chain approximately 16" in length. Marked platinum, circa 1920.
