 Description

Belle Époque ruby and diamond bow brooch. Set to centre with one rectangular step cut natural unenhanced ruby in an open back claw and rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.35 carats, flanked by ten tapered baguette cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back channel and rubover settings with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further flanked by sixteen baguette cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back channel and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.80 carats, adorned with one hundred and twelve round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.15 carats. The total approximate ruby weight is 1.65 carats, to an elegant bow brooch design, featuring millegrain edging, a pierced gallery with chenier detail and fancy open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinged pin and clip. Tested platinum, eagle's head hallmark, makers mark 'C&L', French, circa 1910.
