Art Deco sapphire and diamond three stone ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural no heat sapphire in an open back claw and rubover setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, flanked by two round old cut diamonds in open back claw and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.05 carats, further set to the shoulders and gallery with thirty round eight-cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.42 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.47 carats, to an intricate three stone design featuring intricate openwork with millegrain edging, a decoratively pierced gallery displaying a scrolling motif and fancy shape open backholing, leading to trumpeting architectural shoulders and flowing through to a grooved solid shank. Tested platinum, circa 1920.
