 Description

Ancient Roman banded agate ring. Set to centre with a round cabochon banded agate in a closed back rubover setting, to an ornate solitaire design featuring an intricately raised border, decorative engraving and closed backholing, leading to broad trumpeting shoulders featuring ornately carved scrolling pelta patterns which flow through to a solid ribbed shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 8.52 grams in weight, circa 3rd-4th century AD.
