Solitaire diamond ring with diamond set shoulders. A round old cut diamond is set to centre in an open back four claw setting with a weight of 0.85 carats, flanked by twenty round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain and millegrain settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.15 carats, set to an openwork central collet with intricate circular backholing, and the shoulders flowing down on the diagonal to two elegant rows, terminating to half of the conforming band and leading to a shaped tapered solid shank. Marked platinum, circa 1950.
