Vintage sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a single cushion shape old mine cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 2.15 carats, encircled by fifty two round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.95 carats, to an elegant lightly scalloped cluster design featuring millegrain edging, a decoratively pierced openwork gallery and shaped open backholing, leading to raised grooved shoulders and flowing through to a solid tapering D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1960, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #17431.
