Ruby and diamond ring. Set to centre with a square baguette cut diamond in an open back rubover setting with a weight of 0.40 carats, flanked by three rows of grain set brilliant cut diamonds, twenty eight in total with a combined weight of 0.75 carats, further flanked by two tapered rows to top and bottom of channel set square star top rubies in rubover settings, twenty six in total with an approximate combined weight of 1.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.15 carats, to a conforming heavy stepped band with square backholing and leading to a solid ridged tapered shank. Tested platinum, circa 1950.
