Vintage diamond solitaire ring. Set with a round transitional cut diamond in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.75 carats, to a heavy angular design featuring corner claws and a polished square border, a smooth gallery and open circular backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders with grooved detail and flowing through to a solid shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and tested platinum, indistinct maker's mark, French, circa 1950.
