Victorian triple rubycluster ring. Set with one cushion shape star top natural unenhanced ruby in an open backgrain setting with a weight of 0.55 carats, and two round star top natural unenhanced rubies in similar settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats, bordered by eighteen round mixed cut diamonds in open back grain and cutdown settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carats. The total approximate ruby weight is 1.05 carats, to a graceful oval triple cluster design with a pierced decorative gallery, open backholing and fancy shaped shoulders which taper through to a solid D-shapeshank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold with silver settings, maker's mark for J.W. Benson, English, circa 1880.
