Victorian sapphire and diamond five stone ring. Set with three cushion shape old cutnatural unenhanced sapphires in open backclaw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.45 carats, alternately set with two round old cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.80 carats, accented with eight round rose cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.88 carats, to an elaborately carved gallery with decorative scroll motifs and fine square backholing, shoulders are embellished with further engraved details before leading to a solid D-shapeshank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, English, circa 1890.
