Set to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, encircled by a single row of nine round star top diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, finely pierced openwork gallery and circular backholing, flanked by shoulders decorated with engraved palm and scroll details which flow down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'JMML', English, circa 1890.
