Victorian ruby and diamond seven stone ring. Set horizontally to centre with three cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese rubies in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.95 carats, interspersed by four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.10 carats, to an impressive seven stone design featuring stylised claws, a ridged gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'S.R & S Ld', full hallmarks for Birmingham, English, 1900.
