Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open backclaw setting with an approximate weight of 0.20 carats, further set with six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 1.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.40 carats, to a coronet cluster design featuring stylised curving claws and open backholing, leading to carved trumpeting shoulders terminating in ridged detail, and tapering through to a solid D-shapeshank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1880.
