Victorian diamond and ruby coronet cluster ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.35 carats, encircled by eleven round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats, surrounded by fourteen cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back grain and claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.60 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.45 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster featuring curving claws, a pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders with engraved scroll detail flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, signed 'F&P', full English hallmarks for Birmingham, circa 1872.
