Tudor gold snake ring. A yellow gold ring in the form of a snake encircling the finger, the head with very finely engraved anatomical features and drop shape crest, grasping a hoop in its jaws, the end of the tail threaded through the hoop and leading through to a flat shank with etched stylised scales, approximately 4.1mm in width at widest point. Tested yellow gold, approximately 1g in weight, circa 16th century.
