Sugar loaf cabochon sapphire and diamond ring. A natural cabochon sugar loaf sapphire is set to centre with an approximate weight of 3.00 carats in an open back rubover setting, flanked by six channel set baguette cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.50 carats in rubover settings, further set with twenty four round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.00 carat, to a heavy form with protruding engraved shoulders, to a solid ridged heavy shank. Tested platinum, engraved to interior '17.3.50', circa 1950.
