Saxon twisted gold ring. A yellow gold ring composed of a single graduating rounded wire, with central self twisted raised bezel, flanked by coils to the shoulders and flowing though to a slim shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 2.7g in weight, circa 6th-7th century AD.
Complex rings composed solely from a single wire were a popular style for Saxon craftsmen, made usually from bronze or silver, this particular ring is a rare example all in gold.
