Saxon gold ring set with garnet. Set with a flat circular garnet to centre in a closed back rubover collet setting with granulation beading to the cardinal points, on a smooth conforming double twist intricate filigree band. Tested yellow gold, circa 8th - 10th century AD, accompanied by letter from former owner detailing descent.
