Saunders and Shepherd ruby and diamond five stone ring. Set with three cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carat, further set with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.18 carats, to an elegant five stone design featuring curving claws, a linear carved gallery and cushion shape open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'CS * FS' for Saunders and Shepherd, full hallmarks for London, English, 1901.
