Sapphire and diamond crossover ring. Set with a round old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.55 carats, and a round old cut diamond in similar settings with a weight of 0.40 carats and highlighted with eight round rose cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.64 carats, to a fancy crossover design with pierced claws, fancy shaped backholing, and smoothly conforming shoulders which lead to a solid ridged shank. Marked 18 carat rose gold with platinum settings, French, circa 1910.
