Edwardian sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 2.10 carats, further set with eighteen round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.00 carats, to an elegant octagonal cluster design featuring millegrain edging, an ornately pierced gallery with C-scroll design and fancy open backholing, flanked by split tri-part shoulders with fleur-de-lis motifs flowing smoothly down to a solid slim D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1910.
