Roman intaglio ring with helmeted bust portrait. Set with an oval cabochongarnet depicting a portrait of a helmeted bust in a closed backrubover setting within an oval gold frame, encompassed by a fine wirework border, flanked by trumpeting shoulders with rounded decorative details which flow down to a keeled solid D-shapeshank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 5.0g in weight, circa 2nd-4th century AD. This ring is in very fine condition with an attractive patina.
