Old mine diamond flanked solitaire ring. Set with a cushion shape old mine diamond, I colour, SI1 clarity, with a weight of 1.81 carats, in an open back claw setting, further set with two rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.16 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.97 carats, to an elegant flanked solitaire design, featuring curving corner claws, a structured openwork gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by trumpeting split shoulders leading smoothly to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum settings, circa 1940, accompanied by Gemological Institute of America (GIA) report #6224420781.
