Old mine diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back grain setting with a weight of 1.00 carats, encircled by a row of cushion shape old mine diamonds and further set to the shoulders in open back grain and rubover settings, all twenty two with a combined weight of 1.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.20 carats, to a conforming cluster form with pierced backholing and leading to etched tapered shoulders, flowing down to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1880.
