Medieval magical engraved ring. A smoothly conforming slim band, the nine undulating panels engraved throughout with different motifs, approximately 2mm in width. Testedsilver, approximately 1.6g in weight, circa 14th-15th century AD.
This ring may be an early form of the 'decade' type of ring worn in the 16th to 17th century, used as a prayer counter, similar to a rosary. For a further example of this type of ring, see Oman, C., 'British Rings 800-1914', item 75A.
