Medieval iconographic ring with the holy trinity. A yellow gold ring with an oval bezel finely engraved with a religious scene featuring the holy trinity with a crucified Jesus in the centre, God the father behind and above, his arms supporting Jesus and two recessed triangular fields to the top which may represent wings and thus the holy spirit, leading to trumpeting shoulders with decorative diagonal engraving and flowing through to a solid D-shapeshank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 4.60 grams in weight, English, circa 15th century.
Accompanied by documentation from the Portable Antiquities Scheme stating that this ring was found whilst metal detecting cultivated land in Fleet, Lincolnshire in March 2009. It is recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme under reference number LIN-A52493 and has been declared under the Treasure Act, reference number 2009 T140.
