Description

Medieval amethyst cabochon ring. Set to the centre with a cabochon cushion shape natural amethyst with an approximate weight of 1.00 carat, in a raised closed back rubover setting to a trapezoid shape pie-dish bezel, flanked by patterned engraved shoulders to a flat slightly tapered shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 14th - 15th century.

This is a very fine medieval ring, displaying ornate engraved patterns to the shank and is in fine condition commensurate to its age.
