Description

Gold posy ring, 'United harts death only parts'. A smoothly conforming yellow gold D-shape band, engraved to the interior in italic script 'United harts death only parts', approximately 4mm in width. Tested yellow gold, approximately 1.2 g in weight, circa 18th-19th century.

This posy motto was a stock favourite, with several different versions of the phrase being catalogued in 'English Posies and Posy Rings', Evans, J., 1931, p104.
