Gold memorial ring. A smoothly conforming reverse D-shape band featuring the raised text 'Sr THOs HATTON BART OB:7.NOV:1787 AE:60' with black enamel relief within ridged polished borders and a carved repeating pattern to the outer borders, approximately 4mm in width. Tested yellow gold, indistinct maker's mark, partial English hallmarks, circa 1787.
This ring was created in memorial of Sir Thomas Hatton, 1728-1787, 8th Baronet and M.P. for Longstanton, Leicestershire who resided at Corfe Castle village in Maindsbury, Dorset.
