Georgian diamondcluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in a closed backclaw setting with a weight of 0.40 carats, surrounded by eight cushion shape old mine diamonds in closed back cut down settings with a combined weight of 0.55 carats, further enhanced by sixteen cushion shape mixed cut diamonds in closed back cut down settings with a combined weight of 0.05 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.00 carats, to an elegant double row coronet cluster with stylised borders and scalloped edging, the smoothly conforming shoulders proceeding to a solid slim shank. Tested yellow gold and silver, English, circa 1780, accompanied by fitted box.
