Georgian diamond cluster studs. A matching pair, each set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back cut down setting, two in total with a combined weight of 1.10 carats, surrounded by a single row of seven square table cut diamonds in open back cut down settings, fourteen in total with a combined weight of 1.40 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.50 carats, to an open work flora-form with raised centre and circular backholing, fitted to reverse with secure post and butterfly. Earrings tested gold and silver, butterfly marked 9 carat rose gold, circa 1830.
These earrings have been fitted with modern posts and butterflies so that they can be worn today without affecting their historical integrity.
