Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.25 carats, encircled by a single row of ten round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.40 carats, flanked by two round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats, bordered by a cluster of round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.55 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.70 carats to a sculptural bombé cluster form, featuring polished edges, an undulating bezel and intricate open backholing, flanked by raised angular heavy shoulders tapering down to a solid flat shank. Marked yellow gold and platinum, French, makers mark for Jean Barthelemy, circa 1940.
