Edwardian sapphire and diamond solitaire ring. Centrally set with a single cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire with an approximate weight of 1.17 carats in an open back claw setting, further set with six eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.06 carats, to an elegant flanked solitaire design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery with a scrolling motif and fancy open backholing, leading to slightly raised shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum and 18 carat yellow gold, English, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) report #79185-66.
