Edwardian sapphire and diamond double cluster ring. Set with two round old cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.80 carats, surrounded by a row of round old cut diamonds, further diamonds set to shoulders, twenty four in total, in open back grain and rubover millegrain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats, to a double cluster with scalloped edging, a smoothly conforming finely pierced gallery and ornate backholing, the shoulders tapering through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold with platinum settings, indistinct maker's mark, English, circa 1905.
